The VTconsole is a specialized telnet and SSH client designed to support barcode reading functionality for industrial and commercial applications. Its primary audience includes users of legacy host systems that are text-based, such as those utilizing SAPConsole or operating under VMS or Unix environments. The application offers compatibility with the Linea Pro Accessory Series from Infinite Peripherals, enabling barcode scanning via iPod touch and iPhone devices, with the added capability of utilizing the iPhone camera as a barcode reader.

The interface of VTconsole emphasizes efficient and rapid data entry through features such as optimized, large on-screen keyboards and prominently displayed fonts. A dynamic magnified screen feature (Follow Cursor) further enhances usability by enlarging relevant sections of the display as needed.
